Card for baby boy

Hey!

It was quiet on my blog recently – as always my excuse is lack of time. Yesterday I finally had a chance to get crafty (my hands were literally* itching to fondle some paper) and made a card for a friend who is expecting a little baby boy. I just hope he’ll arrive in April cause if he decides to wait till May a small card surgery will be required 🙂

Welcome baby card

Hey!

I made this card for my friend who just had a baby girl. I used Distress Markers (yeah I still love them) and Hero Arts stamp set Happy Day Animals.

I stamped the sheep on watercolour paper and masked them off with some masking paper. To create background I spread couple of colours of Distress Markers on plastic sheet, sprayed it generously with water and put watercolour paper face down on the plastic. When the paper dried I added some colour to the sheep, butterflies and flowers, added stickers to create sentiment and two wood veneer hearts. This technique was a bit out of my comfort zone but I love the effect. Enjoy!

It’s a girl!

Hey!

It has been quiet on my blog for a while because I have been crazy busy in July. I did not have a chance to make a single card last month and I missed it terribly. My hands have been itching for some papercrafting. Fortunately, I’m back to my old routine now and have more time for cards and blog. So without further ado, I present you my newest card made for a birth of baby girl. Enjoy!

Card for christening

Hey! Back to cards,  as promised.

This car was requested by my friend for the christening of her nephew. It came out very simple. The little onesie I simply cut out of the patterned paper with my scissors. The sentiment means  “On your christening day” in Polish.

Welcome baby card

This is another card for a special occasion. My husband’s cousin is expecting her first baby so this card is for her and her family.

I got this cute fish stamp from Imaginisce Snag Em and thought that it will be ideal for welcome baby type of card. I wanted to create sea-like wavy background and somehow I remembered I have just a tool for that: craft scissors! I got this no name set about hundred years ago from Ebay and almost immediately completely forgot about them but they proved perfect for this job and I’m very pleased with the effects.

So I cut out my waves from some scraps of patterned paper sitting in my stash and assembled them in couple of layers with dimensional adhesive. I stamped fish on watercolour paper and coloured it with watercolour pencils. When it dried I covered it with Glossy Accents. I used Smoochable Tiny Type stickers from Bo Bunny for sentiment and Ranger’s Liquid Pearls in Baby Blue for bubbles. And voila:

Now we are just waiting for news from baby front…
