Inspired by… #2

Hey!

Remember this card inspired by paper bag? Today I wanted to show you another card inspired by something I saw. I was watching IT Crowd recently and really liked colours and pattern on Jen’s dress in one of the episodes. I thought this colour combo would look great on the card.

So here’s what the dress looks like:

And here’s my card inspired by it:

Can you see the connection?

To make background I punched out a lot of circles and distressed their edges with distress ink in Walnut Stain.

Operation inspiration

Hi! This time I just wanted to show example of how I look for inspiration in things surrounding me and that even such an ordinary thing as paper bag can help your creativity.

So, I got this  paper bag at Marks & Spencers  and really liked design on it:

I thought this kind of design could look great on a card and that’s what I came up with:

I used red background on kraft base and couple of different stamps, all from Inkadinkado: sentiment from Peppermint Twist, snowflakes from Warm Holiday Wishes and those pretty flourishes from Ornate Flourish. I stamped the images with embossing ink and used silver embossing powder from Ranger. I love the look of silver on red, I saw it first at Kristina’s blog a year ago and wanted to try it ever since. The photo doesn’t do it justice, it looks so much prettier in real life! I added a tiny chipboard birdie from Maya Road, which I also embossed. His eye is a Hero Art pearl coloured black with a marker.
