Simon Says Stamp challenge: Sympathy card

You never know when you may need a sympathy card and I think it’s always good to have one or two of them at hand, just in case… When I saw this challenge at Simon Says Stamp blog I realized that currently I don’t have any in my stash and this is a good occasion to make one.

For sympathy cards I try to use neutral colours and simple composition. One of my favourite ingredients for this type of card is paper with flock finish which in my opinion adds some elegance to the card. Here I used handmade paper from Papermania which has a very nice texture.

I stamped the sentiment with stamp from Stampendous’ Orchid Greetings set, added couple of pearls from Hero Arts and strip of vellum paper punched with Martha Stewart’s Doily Lace border punch. I don’t think sympathy cards require a lot of embellishments but in this case top of the card looked a bit unfinished to me so I put the eyelets in both top corners.

  1. Love the little things you added to your card: the vellum lace and the lovely pearls. Thanks so much for sharing this with us at the Simon Says Stamp challenge this week!
